Welcome to YumPlatesHub! I’m Olivia, and I’m thrilled to share my passion for cooking with you. What started as a love for experimenting in my grandmother’s kitchen has blossomed into a full-blown culinary adventure that I get to share with thousands of home cooks around the world.
Growing up in a multicultural household, I learned that food is more than just sustenance—it’s a language of love, a bridge between cultures, and a way to create lasting memories with the people we cherish most.
My Story
From Home Kitchen to Food Community
My cooking journey began at age 8, standing on a wooden stool next to my abuela in her tiny kitchen in Barcelona. She taught me that the best recipes aren’t always found in cookbooks—they’re passed down through generations, adjusted with intuition, and perfected with love.
After moving to the United States for culinary school, I discovered a whole new world of flavors and techniques. I spent years working in restaurants, catering companies, and even a brief stint at a food magazine. But I always felt something was missing—the personal connection, the joy of seeing someone recreate a dish in their own home.
In 2020, during the pandemic, I started sharing recipes with friends and family. Their enthusiasm and the flood of “I made this tonight!” messages inspired me to launch YumPlatesHub. What began as a simple blog has grown into a thriving community of home cooks who believe that delicious food should be accessible to everyone.
Today, I create recipes that bridge the gap between restaurant-quality dishes and real-life home cooking. Every recipe I share has been tested multiple times in my own kitchen, tweaked until it’s just right, and designed to work with ingredients you can actually find at your local grocery store.

I’m obsessed with food movies—”Ratatouille” and “Chef” are on repeat in my house.
I’ve visited 23 countries so far, and my passport is basically a culinary travel journal.

While I believe great cooking doesn’t require fancy equipment, there are a few tools I reach for every single day: my trusty cast-iron skillet (seasoned to perfection over 10 years), a quality chef’s knife that feels like an extension of my hand, a heavy-bottomed Dutch oven for slow-cooked magic, and my grandmother’s wooden spoon that’s been stirring love into meals for three generations.
